Lumineers

1. What are LUMINEERS?

LUMINEERS are remarkably thin and durable porcelain veneers that provide a painless way to create a permanently whitened, reshaped, perfectly natural looking smile. LUMINEERS can be placed on almost anyone and is a permanent cosmetic solution for worn, stained, chipped, or crooked teeth.

2. Why did you originally decide to offer LUMINEERS to your patients?

It was by popular demand. After placing traditional veneers for 25 years, my patients started asking if they were a candidate for LUMINEERS. I attended five 2-day and 3-day training courses so I could learn everything there was to know about LUMINEERS. I began to realize there was a better, safer, non-invasive way to give my patients the natural smile they have always wanted. Now, after 3 years and dedicating much of my time to the procedure, I have placed hundreds of LUMINEERS.

3. How can people afford this during these difficult economic times?

We offer interest free financing for up to 2 years. All of our initial visits are complimentary without any obligation. We offer free whitening of adjacent teeth with every set of LUMINEERS.

4. What is the difference between LUMINEERS and traditional veneers?

Unlike traditional veneers, permanent tooth structure does not have to be painfully removed. LUMINEERS are applied to your teeth without painful grinding or shaving and are as thin as contact lenses. LUMINEERS can be placed over existing crowns, bridgework, or fillings without having to replace them. NO anesthetic or numbing shots are needed during placement of LUMIEERS. Once the procedure is complete, there is no discomfort at the gum line or sensitivity, which is often the case with veneers. LUMINEERS are more translucent than veneers and look more natural. LUMINEERS not only dramatically change the appearance of teeth, they strengthen them as well.

5. Is it true that this is the only veneer system that actually comes with a warranty?

Yes, LUMINEERS are the only product clinically proven to last over 20 years and are backed by an unprecedented 10 year warranty. In addition, LUMINEERS have been named a “Top Health and Beauty” product by the Dental Advisor for four years running.

6. What is the age range of potential patients?

I have placed LUMINEERS on a wide-range of patients from 17-90 years of age.

7. What are LUMINEERS made of?

LUMINEERS are created from Cerinate porcelain, the strongest leucite reinforced ceramic on the market. This patented porcelain is exclusively made by Den-Mat, the leader in cosmetic dentistry, in Santa Maria, California. The patented pressed ceramic has a similar translucency to natural tooth structure.

8. What type of patient is the LUMINEER procedure appropriate for?

LUMINEERS can be place on just about anyone and can correct a wide variety of unsightly dental conditions including:

  • - Tooth discoloration
  • - Gaps between teeth
  • - Permanent stains
  • - Broken or misshapen teeth
  • - Crooked teeth

LUMINEERS can also be bonded to existing crowns, bridgework, and fillings.

9. Can LUMINEERS be cleaned like my regular teeth?

Yes, LUMINEERS can be cleaned and polished in the same manner as your regular teeth.

10. How many appointments will I need?

The LUMINEER procedure can be completed in as little as 2 visits. No down time or pain from shots, sensitive teeth, or temporaries. From start to finish, LUMINEERS can be permanently placed in 2 weeks.

11. Can LUMINEERS fall off like a veneer did on a friend of mine?

If properly bonded, they will not come off. Since your tooth has not been ground down like with traditional veneers, the natural enamel remains and the bond to enamel is extremely strong. Traditional veneers are placed on the ground down tooth and with little or no enamel left, they are prone to popping off.

12. Will they stain, discolor, or chip over time?

They will not stain or discolor even with red wine, tea, or coffee. Like you natural teeth, LUMINEERS can chip if you use them as a tool or instrument. You can eat normally with them and chew on a crust of bread, bite into an apple, and use them like natural teeth. If you do chip one, they are backed by the unprecedented 10 year warranty and can be easily replaced without any shots, pain, or discomfort.
