How does a SOS work?

Snap On Smile snaps over your existing teeth to give you a whiter and straighter, natural smile.They can be made for upper and lower teeth or both. They are available as an arch or as a “Snap It” for a quadrant of your mouth.

What are they made of?

They are made from a patented resin / acrylic that is smooth, flexible, and strong.

Can I eat with them?

Yes, they are comfortable to use while eating and can be worn as much as you like.

Will they stain?

No, not much since they are polished smooth.  The resin composition is resistant to stain.

Do you need teeth?

Yes.  They are a close fitting device that are retained with your natural teeth.  You need at least half of you teeth in an arch to have the SOS stay in place.

What other things are SOS’s used for?

They are used to open a bite or as a temporary appliance while you are waiting for healing after an extraction or implant.

Will they last a long time?

The average SOS should last up to 5 years with proper care.

How long does it take to make a SOS?

After an initial 45 minute appointment to take impressions, a SOS takes 3 weeks to make.

How much do they cost?

Between $1,400 and $2,000 per arch depending on difficulty.  Snap It’s are $400 to $600 for a quadrant of your mouth.

Does insurance cover the cost of a SOS?

There is no specific insurance code for SOS.  They can be billed as a partial denture if you are missing some teeth.  The average insurance benefit is 50% for a prosthesis.
